Emma's 7th Birthday Cake in the making...

Here is Emma's cake.. This is completely her design. The fondant was surprisingly easy to use. I colored it pretty easily and rolled it out with no problems. The only fondant on the cake is the lettering. Now that I see how easy it is to use, I just may make another cake soon and try to cover it with the fondant.

UPDATE:
The cake was a HUGE success with the party goers. One of Emma's friends is allergic to tree nuts, and was over the moon that she was able to eat the cake. The people that came that didn't know I decorate cakes were amazed.

Emma's 7th Birthday Cake

So, Emma wanted this cake for her birthday.

I was going to modify it to make it my own and actually cover it in fondant. It would have been my first fondant covered cake. The swirls, dots and bow would have been light purple roses.
I took her to Michael's to get the stuff to make it and she goes and changes the entire cake design on me. She now wants a 1/4 sheet with pink roses and fondant lettering. Oh well, at least she changed it now instead of after I had it started. I will be making the cake in about 9 days. So keep checking back to see what I came up with for her.

My Great Niece Laurel's First Birthday Cake

My niece Beth asked me if I would make Laurel's birthday cake. I was happy to. Once we decided on the theme, the rest came naturally. I also made her a smaller cake all of her own.

Here is the little cake.
